Is your dining room missing something but you can’t quite put your finger on it? You have a dining table and chairs, you have a chandelier over the table, now what else is there? What you might be missing is a fantastic buffet furniture piece to complement your dining set. Buffet furniture is classic, and hasn’t gone out of style for hundreds of years. There are a few different designs you can choose from to set off your room.
The first type of buffet furniture you could use in your dining room is a hutch. Hutches can also be used in the kitchen, but no matter where you put it a buffet hutch is a very practical and beautiful piece to add to your collection. Hutches give you a place to store and display your fine China dishes, or your entertaining ware or table linens. Hutches give you a display rack for that dinnerware, and also handy storage cabinets for whatever you need to store and keep close at hand in the dining room or kitchen. You can get an antique, traditional, or contemporary style buffet hutch to match your dining set.
Another type of buffet furniture you can go with is a sideboard. Sideboards are usually like a buffet cabinet, in that they give you plentiful cabinet storage for dishware, glasses, or linens and give you an extra tabletop when you need another surface to serve your food on. Sideboards don’t take up quite as much wall space as a buffet hutch, but give you an extra serving table and valuable storage space to keep your dining room and kitchen tidy.
Accent dining room tables are the third type of buffet furniture you can go with. If you don’t need the storage or don’t have the room for a hutch or sideboard in your home, you can get one of these accent buffet tables to complete your dining room. Like sideboards, accent dining room tables are a handy serving table when you are entertaining, but because they have legs instead of cabinetry, they take up less floor space. These buffet tables may also have one to six drawers for you, if you want to store smaller objects such as the silver flatware, place mats, or napkin rings.
Whether you choose a buffet table, hutch, or sideboard, any of the buffet furniture pieces will help complete the polished look of your dining room. Happy hunting! |
